If you only signed up with a username and email address with the SSA website, you should have received an e-mail to set up a Login.gov or ID.me account to use to login.  For more information about this change and how to update your login, click here.

Whether you are years away from retirement or are already collecting SS benefits, it is recommended that you create a my Social Security account on the SSA website.  These accounts are free and can help you estimate your SS benefits, track your earnings history, and even request a replacement SS card.
